With Photo Management Consulting You Will:

  • Access a photo management expert who can hold your hand and explain the tech in a way that’s easy to understand (and doesn’t leave you feeling dumb and clueless).
  • Learn and implement the right processes for you and your precious photo memory collection.
  • Document the stories that go with the photos and keep them together.
  • Find any photo memory in a quick moment and enjoy it.
  • Feel peace in knowing your memories are preserved, protected and no longer at risk for damage or loss.
  • Experience relief because your collection is in a format that future generations are likely to look forward to viewing and receiving.
  • Make it easier to downsize, if, and when that time comes.

I created this consulting service for busy people like you who value their photos and family stories.  I have been teaching people how to manage their photos since 2002 so they can revisit and share their family memories both now and in the future.

I met Fancy at a scrapbooking event in 2009, and I continue to preserve my memories through scrapbooking.  She has helped me become more computer literate.  I don’t know a lot about technology and have some trepidation about it.  But Fancy has helped me learn new things and taught me in ways that I can understand and incorporate into my knowledge base.

How Does Photo Management Consulting Work?

There are three options for Photo Management Consulting, and you can choose the one that works best for you (or even do a combination of them over time, if that’s what helps you the most).

Consulting Call

A Consulting Call is best for someone who has a list of questions they want answered.  If you’ve gone through your collection or spent some time thinking about what you have and your goals, this may be the best choice for you.

A call might also be an excellent choice if you aren’t even sure where to start and feel overwhelmed.  In this case, I’ll ask you the questions that will lead to the answers you are looking for.  In both cases, we’ll create your Photo Management Action Plan for your specific collection.

We can do the call over the phone or by video call, your choice.   Choose the date and time from the available slots on my calendar and choose either a 30-minute or 60-minute session.

    2. Follow the prompts to complete your booking and payment.
    3. That’s it – I’ll send you everything else you need to know.

Remote Digital Session

A Remote Digital Session is best if you need me to show you how to do something on your computer, such as organize, move, or otherwise work with your digital photos.  I do this over the internet using software that allows me to see and “drive” on your computer while we also talk on the phone.  I show you exactly what to do, and then you do it until you feel comfortable with it.

The way it works is I send you a small piece of software to install on your computer called Teamviewer QS.  When you open it, they provide you with a Partner ID and a Password which you then give to me.  That allows me to see your computer on my monitor and “drive” on your computer with my mouse.  And don’t worry – I can never log into your computer without your permission each time (and wouldn’t anyway).

I didn’t know how a Remote Digital Session would work nor what to expect, but I found it was easy to use and an efficient process. Fancy showed me how to set up a digital photo hub, and I learned how to upload and copy photos that were stored on CDs and in other places on my computer.

She’s very patient – we practiced several times, and she made sure I understood the process. She shared resources that will help me in my photo management project and software I would need to back up my files. And she saved me a ton of time that would have been eaten up trying to learn all the new technology, tools, and apps on my own.

Photo Manager in Your Pocket

Photo Manager in Your Pocket was designed so you can have access to me over an entire day while you are working on your collection.  To do this we use Voxer, a free walkie-talkie app that allows us to exchange voice and text messages.  It can be used on your phone, tablet, or computer.

During our Pocket Day, we’ll be in touch over Voxer so you can ask your questions and I can give you suggestions and answers.  Voxer also allows for the sharing of photos, files and links, if needed.

Here’s how it works:

You choose a date for your Pocket Day.

Choose a day you have designated to work on your collection – whether you are just beginning or are in the middle of it all.  You can choose to work a few hours, half a day, or a full day.  This is totally up to you.

We get you set up on Voxer.

If you don’t have a Voxer account, you’ll create one – it’s free.  You can find the Voxer app in your device’s app store or use the website at www.voxer.com on your computer.

We’ll add each other on Voxer, and you can send me a message in advance to tell me what you have in your collection and/or what you plan to work on during our Back-Pocket Day.  This way we can dive right in when your day starts.

When your Pocket Day comes, you’ll have access to me from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, US Mountain Time.

Don’t worry – this isn’t a 12-hour chat, and you’re not expected nor supposed to be sitting by your phone or computer waiting for replies.

We’ll be exchanging messages throughout the day as you need me.  You can ask a bunch of questions one after the other, or space them out as they arise.  Or I can lead the way with questions to get you thinking about what you need and want to do.  It’s flexible.

The best thing about a Pocket Day is that you’ll have time between messages to think about your end goals, work on your collection, and take breaks.

That’s part of what makes a Pocket Day so effective.

I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The task was so daunting I was overwhelmed. I don’t think I could have done this by myself. Fancy is reasonably priced, committed, and I found her easy to converse with.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can we discuss during a consulting session?  (Call, Remote, Pocket)

Here are some examples from past clients:

  • Digital Photo & Video Management
  • Printed Photo Management
  • Digital or Traditional Scrapbooking
  • Computer Questions (tech support)
  • Outdated Media (film, video, slides, etc)
  • Memorabilia (certificates, trophies, medals, keepsakes, etc)

It’s also okay if you’re not sure what questions you should ask.  I can take the lead and ask questions I think will best help you figure out your steps.

None of the dates available work for me (Call, Remote, Pocket)

Don’t worry. Message me using the chat box on the bottom right corner of this page, and we’ll figure something out together.

What if I need to reschedule? (Call, Remote, Pocket)

Hey, life happens.  I get that.  You can reschedule up to 6 hours before your scheduled appointment.  From within your confirmation and/or reminder emails you will see the options to Cancel or Reschedule. By clicking on one of those options you will either be asked to confirm cancellation or to select a new time to reschedule with you.  I don’t offer refunds for cancellations, and you can reschedule as many times as you need at no additional charge.

What if we’re in different timezones?   (Call, Remote, Pocket)

For calls and remote sessions, you will see the appointment times in your own time zone.

For Voxer sessions, I’ll be available between 9 am and 9 pm US Mountain Time, but you will see it in your own time zone.  This means most time zones get at least a handful of hours of conversation during a Pocket Day.

What kind of topic is not a good fit?  (Call, Remote, Pocket)

Unless you know your way around your computer or software and understand how they “think,” software and computer tech are not good topics for Calls or Pocket Days.  They are better served through a Remote Digital Session.

How much time is included in my consulting session?   (Call, Remote, Pocket)

For a call you can choose 30 or 60 minutes.  You can schedule as many sessions as you need, whenever you need them.

For a remote session you can choose 1 or 2 hours.  You can schedule as many sessions as you need, whenever you need them.

For a Pocket Day you’ll have access to me between 9 am and 9 pm US Mountain Time.  Don’t worry. This doesn’t mean we’ll be communicating nonstop for 12 hours.   That’s just the window during which we’ll be exchanging messages.

What if I don’t remember what you tell me in my session?  (Call, Remote, Voxer)

With your permission, I will record the call or remote session and send you the unedited recording within a few days of our session.  Voxer sessions are automatically recorded, and I will send you the transcript within a few days of our session.  You will also have access to the Pocket Day Session in your Voxer app or at Voxer.com for 30 days.

I’m not sure I want another app on my phone.  Why Voxer? (Pocket)

I used to offer in-person workshops where people would bring their collections to my house to work and ask questions as they arose.  My Pocket Sessions recreate this environment with the benefit of not having to lug your collection anywhere, but still having almost instant access to me.

Voxer is easy to learn, easy to use, and free.  If you don’t want to use it on your phone, you can use it through the website on a computer or tablet.  You also don’t need to give out your phone number in order to use it like you do with many messaging apps.

Is Voxer hard to learn or use? (Pocket)

If you ever used a walkie talkie as a kid, you know how to use Voxer.  On both the phone app or the website, you hold the big “button” down while you talk, recording your message.  When you let up on the button, it stops recording and sends the message.

In addition, you can use the keyboard to type a message – just like texting on the phone or tablet, and just regular typing on the computer.  You can attach files, photos, and more as well.

How available do I need to be over a Pocket Day?  (Pocket)

During  your Pocket Day, we’ll be exchanging messages at a slow yet steady pace throughout the day, although we may start off with a list of questions.  It works best when you’ve set aside time that day to work on your photo memory collection so that you can ask questions as they come up.  You’ll have time between messages to think about your end goals, work on your collection, and take breaks.

Is Voxer free? (Pocket)

Yes, it is. And it’s available for phones, tablets and computers.  For mobile devices, find it in your app store.  For computers, use the website at www.voxer.com.   On all devices you have a choice of either talking or typing/texting (microphone required for talking).

I have another question before I book.  (Call, Remote, Pocket)

Just send me a message using the chat box at the bottom right corner of this page and I’ll get back to you.

At first, I was a little hesitant because Fancy’s expertise was with PCs, not Apple products, but we got through that, and I was very pleased with the results. I found it easy to ask questions, and I didn’t feel intimidated by my lack of certain computer skills. All my photos are now in one digital hub and I can manage them on my own.
