Many of us have memories on a variety of media: old home movies on video or film, reel-to-reel or cassette tapes, or even old scrapbooks. All of this can be digitized with today’s technology, however there are some things you should know before having just any company handle your Media Conversion.
What’s Wrong with DVD’s?
When it comes to home movies on video or film, most media conversion companies give the end product only on a DVD. DVDs are very convenient for viewing your captured memories on a television or computer. However the video files can only be taken off the discs using specialized software, making editing, emailing and uploading to the internet difficult, not to mention backing up. They also require you to have a DVD player. And they are breakable which doesn’t make them the best end product for your precious memories.
Converting your videotapes to digital files will give you much more flexibility. Digital video files can be stored on a flash drive, hard drive, computer, device or cloud. They can also be edited, emailed, copied, uploaded and more. You can even make your own DVDs or I can do that for you for your convenience.
